MiVote is a social solution to a social challenge that uses available technology to allow scale and speed. We live in a world where we can have one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-one conversations, and instantly access more information than at any other time in human history. There is no longer any reason to persist with a representative government designed in a time and for a world that no longer exists.
Come to explore what the smart city movement is and why it matters. Lorraine will discuss the trends, the role of the citizen and government, emerging technologies and why it’s important to apply technology thoughtfully. Lorraine will also share with us her learnings in establishing CityLab – City of Melbourne’s innovation lab and the key ingredients for a smart city.
Intellistreets is the world’s leading provider of Smart City lighting technology and is transforming urban precincts into smart, safe and inviting social spaces. This session will showcase how Rockhampton City Council recently introduced Intellistreets lampposts to its CBD streets and Riverside district. The installations have created dynamic, energy-efficient shared spaces, attracting locals, tourists and benefitting local businesses and event organisers.
Join us for a keynote from Boyd Cohen on how blockchain will enhance urban city living, and hear from an expert panel on how they are contributing to a smarter city through emerging technology.
